The Silver Bow — an orchestra for the youngest musicians
Initially the idea was to bring together children taking violin and cello classes at junior school level, giving them a chance to play music together. Now, in addition, we invite young pianists, as we have included the piano in the orchestra.
Right from the start in the autumn of 2006, the children’s orchestra has made many successful performances. Since 2007 we cooperate with the music school in St Petersburg (Russia), ArtSchule in Nürnberg (Germany), as well as other music schools internationally. Several of the Silver Bow children have performed on TV.
The children's orchestra is part of the non-profit association, Silverstråken (The Silver Bow), founded in 2004 by violin teacher Natalja Namitova. The aim of Silverstråken is to promote music interest among children, teenagers and adults. Silverstråken takes active part in cultural life, often arranging concerts, lectures, and courses, in Sweden as well as abroad; independently or in cooperation with other associations.
The annual membership fee for Silverstråken is SEK 150. Payment is made to the Swedbank account number 5778-4670. You can apply for membership HERE.
As a member of Silverstråken, you will be given free entrance to all concerts arranged by the association. In addition, all members of Silverstråken automatically receive a membership in RUM (Swedish Association of Young Musicians). This gives discounts on various cultural events, such as educational circles, courses, and concerts.
To Silverstråken concerts, we naturally welcome also those music interested children, teenagers, and adults who are not members of Silverstråken (at the cost of SEK 50 per concert).
